within our 5000 square foot facility located in Medford,
NY. Our millwork specialists complete the building processes
after initial measurements have been taken and staircase
designs have been drafted. We take great pride in fabricating

Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Estimates are always free of charge.
Will I have a choice of lumber when building
my custom staircase?
Yes. With respect to budgetary considerations and time,
we can incorporate different species of wood into staircases,
treads, risers, stringers, rails, balusters, and custom
fittings.
How long will it take to install my staircase?
With respect to the style, design, and the complexity
of the build, it generally takes between 4-6 weeks to
build a custom staircase. The transportation and installation
process usually takes between 1-4 days depending on
the size of the project.
Do you provide staircase repair services?
Yes. Upon visiting your home to survey the issue, we
can determine the steps necessary to go forward with
repair work.
Will I receive a warranty for my custom wood
staircase?
Island Custom Stairs provides a (1) one year warranty
for all custom built staircases.
Are painting and sealing services included
with my wooden staircase?
No. Island Custom Stairs provides only the fabrication,
manufacturing, and installation services for our products.
We will be happy to suggest a professional painter or
sealer to finish the staircase. A quality finish is
important to prevent warping and controlling the moisture
content within the selected wood species. This applies
to both warm and cold environments.
Do you create steel staircases?
Island Custom Stairs does not manufacture or fabricate
custom steel staircases. We can incorporate steel accent
pieces within our builds or for structural support purposes.
Is there a deposit needed to begin work?
Yes. Island Custom Stairs requires a 50% deposit before
beginning any custom stair building project and payment
schedules are available for the remaining balances.
Does Island Custom Stairs accept credit cards?
No. We accept checks or bank certified checks only.
As we are a custom staircase manufacture all work is
made to order and the amount of lumber with respect
to its species needs to be considered and purchased
prior to fabrication.
